Even though gold plated jewelry doesn’t lose color by the contact with water if you wish to save its original condition for a long time you are advised to:
• limit its exposure to various liquids and clean it shortly after if that happened
• don’t scratch or rub the piece
• avoid any harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• put on the jewels last to avoid direct contact with the perfumes, lotions, and hair products
